President's Message:

Moving from strength to strength
The first quarter (April - June) of the year saw carrying forward the momentum of last year. We saw many new things happening at Khushboo.”
In order to improve the quality of our work, we changed the structure of our services. All the activities and interventions are now categorized
under two specific programmes, Life Skill Development and Therapeutic Services. This approach led to some new thinking and actions.
Children enjoyed a summer break for a month and came back rejuvenated. At the same time, little more efforts had to be put in to bring them back to the normal daily routine.”
The next mission we have set for ourselves is to establish a residential facility for these special children where they can live with dignity and comfort, even in the absence of their immediate families
. The Executive Committee put in special efforts this year on this project.
I am happy to share that we have completed the process of purchasing 3 acres of land in
Tauru town, 40 kms from Gurugram.
I hope we will continue to get the support
of our donors, for we can do only what they facilitate us to do!

Great going team Khushboo!

Best wishes
Rakesh Jinsi

Success Story
High in spirit with
higher dedication

Kaanav Kaushik came to Khushboo in 2016 when he was 5 years old. At that time he had a very weak muscular strength and barely had motor control.  After the proper assessment, it was found that the child had an issue of eye-hand coordination & hand to hand coordination. He had not achieved developmental milestone because of lack of knowledge of parents and availability of the facility.
Our team of special educator and therapist after looking at his conditions developed
goal-oriented therapeutic activities. Khushboo educators also trained parent’s of Kaanav so that they could monitor him at home. He was monitored and evaluated on a regular basis. Over a period of
time it was found that there is a gradual increase in muscular strength of upper and lower extremities as well as hand to hand coordination. There is also improvement in his neck holding capacity.
Khushboo’s special educators and therapists are working in full swing on improving fine hand movements of Kaanav as well as achieve the next milestone which is making him
to sit.
