We celebrated our 23 rd Annual Day on 3 rd March, 2019. The special occasion was graced by Ms. Sminu
Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Saw, as the Chief Guest. The day was marked by Special Address by
Ms. Sminu Jindal who briefed about the role and significance of such NGOs is bringing an important
wave of change in society. She underlined "I came to encourage you and you encouraged and inspired
me with your performance”
The day witnessed five cultural performances, three of them performed by the children of "Khushboo".
One of them was presented by mothers of the children linked to our NGO and another featured the
dedicated staff of our NGO. It underlined the fact that such kids just need our genuine encouragement
for their latent talent and not merciful looks to their challenging aspect of physical or mental life. The
cultural performance by a group of kids while showcasing their talent, also exhibited their feeling of
ecstasy in being part of such a function, delighted one and all.” A Sitar performance by Charu Narang,
sister of a special child, a music professional who volunteered to perform at the annual function drew
great appreciation from one and all present at the function.
Khushboo Management felicitated individuals during the event. The "Most Active Mother" prize/award
was given for providing exemplary volunteering activities.
Khushboo's child was conferred upon an award for being the "Most Punctual" throughout the year and
another child was given away an award for always being in " Uniform and for cleanliness".
During the gala function, Chief Guest Ms. Sminu Jindal, appreciated Mr. Jinsi President Khushboo for his
commitment that inspite of the challenges he is continuing to do the great work”. On the occasion,
Mr. Rakesh Jinsi, President, "Khushboo" said all members of our NGO showed a great sense of
enthusiasm to mark this extra special day. This day's celebration is the result of months-long
preparations.";
Khushboo decided to celebrate Women’s Day by recognising achievements of women with special abilities. It was fortunate to have Ms Ira Singhal as a Chief Guest which has doubled the impact of the women’s day celebrations. She has not only been an achiever but has been part and parcel of the special ability community
A small event was organised at Khushboo on the occasion of women’s day. It was an honour to have Ms Ira Singhal as the Chief Guest on the women’s day celebrations.
During the event there was discussion on various issues of disability. One of the issues which were focussed was to promote the rights of women and girls with disabilities and enhance their participation in society through taking measures to address all barriers that prevent or restrict the full and equal participation.
Chief Guest Ms Ira Singhal during the event said “There are very few organisations like Khushboo who work with such patience and dedication and give hope and future to the special children. It was beyond my expectation.
4 of our children participated in “Doll Making” and “Urli Painting” organised by very special Art Vasant Kunj, New Delhi
We celebrated our 21st Annual Day Function. A Musical Evening organised with Hosla Charitable Trust and Khushboo Children.
A Yoga session was organised at the centre for parents and staff.
Medical camp was organised at the centre.17 children with neurological conditions were attended by Paediatric Neurologist Dr. Pooja G. Kapoor. 6 children were attended by Dr. Sanjay Sarup, Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Six children (Kunal, Aditya, Manjeet, Manish, Bittu – Netball and Priyanka – Football) participated in State Level Game was organised by Special Olympic Bharat at Asha Awwa School, Hissar. Our Netball team secured the Third position.
Priyanka & Aditya participated in National Championship for Basketball in Chennai organised by Special Olympic Bharat.
New Building was inaugurated followed by flag hoisting done by Mr. Arun Bhatia (M.D of Carrier Aircon and Refrigeration). Later children performed dance, drama and played Patriotic Instrumental Music (sare jahan se acha). Speech was given on Big Mac by two of our students. They brought refreshments for our staff and children.
6 children went for state level selection camp in which 2 children named Manjeet and Amit Sharma participated in race and 4 other children named Kunal, Deepanshu, Anmol and Deepak participated in shot-put .
8 children participated in a dance competition on theme Bachpan organised by Very Special Art and they won first prize.
4 girls of Khushboo participated in 1st Women’s Athletics Championship held at Yamuna Nagar. The event was organized by Special Olympics Bharat, Haryana in collaboration with Uthan Institute of Development and studies for children with special needs
Priyanka Hasija, of Khushboo was selected from Haryana to participate in Power Weight Lifting in 2015 Special Olympics World Games. She went to Los Angeles with other participant and her coach from 25th July to 2nd August, to participate in the World Games.
Our ‘Iron Girl’ – Priyanka won 4 bronze medals in the various categories of Power Lifting: Bench Press, Squat Lift, Dead Lift, and a Bronze medal in combination of all events.
